Well, hello there!
My name is...
Sabrina Mack
Acting - Fight Directing - Movement
My Story.
Sabrina Mack (she/her) is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD and is based out of New York City. She is very motivated by physical theatre. She is always looking for ways to challenge herself and getting outside of her comfort zone. Some of her favorite forms of physical theatre include: clowning, mask work, View Points, and Laban. Additionally, she enjoys stage combat, aerial silks, yoga, pole, parkour and even rock climbing! Anything to keep exploring and playing with movement.

How I got here...
I am originally from Cincinnati Ohio, I went to school at Northern Kentucky University to get my BFA in Acting. All this started when I was fourteen, my mom asked if I wanted to try a theatre camp and I thought "why not?" I had no idea how that decision would change my life! I was hooked instantly. It was the first time as a kid where I felt I could be free and myself. I was a pretty shy kid so it took my family by surprise how much I loved the stage. There are things in theatre that you just cannot find anywhere else. The connection you feel while a part of an ensemble, the energy of the audience, and the openness and vulnerability you have to achieve to truly tell the story. These aspects and my love for the craft keep me on my path to acting. I was homeschooled for most of high school so instead of having a drama program I went out and looked for acting classes and auditions! I ended up finding Cincinnati Actor's Studio & Academy which truly became my second home. A place of self discovery as well as acting, after all; one cannot grow without the other. And I am so happy CASA pushed me and challenged me like they did! And now I am swept up in the wild world of theatre!

What I'm doing now....

One of my favorite parts about theatre is stage combat! Fight direction is something I have found through my friend and mentor Gina Cerimele-Mechley. She showed me the world of stage combat and I never looked back! Stage combat is physical storytelling and that's right up my alley. My love of stage combat definitely started from a love of movement work, like Laban, Chekov, clown work, and contact improv. All of these techniques helped me find my sense of play. For me being a "good actor" relies on your sense of play! You need to be able to play to make choices. How are you going to find the right choice if you don't try them all? Play so you can fail! Fail so you can try again. Try again so you can find the right choice.
